FAQ
Frequently asked questions
The purpose of technical intern training is to "transfer skills to developing countries," and in principle, trainees can stay for up to five years, but they are prohibited from changing jobs. On the other hand, the "Specified Skilled Worker" system is designed to make up for Japan's labor shortage, and they are allowed to change jobs, and there is no longer a limit on the period of stay if they transition to Specified Skilled Worker No. 2.
The general process for hiring specific skilled foreign nationals is as follows:
Creating a job posting (receiving company)
Selection of candidates (introduced by support organizations)
Interviews and job offers (online interviews, etc.)
Confirmation of passing the specific skills test and Japanese language test Conclusion of employment contract Application for status of residence (submitted to the Immigration Bureau)
Visa issuance, orientation for life in Japan, and start of work
This process typically takes about 3 to 6 months. The period of stay for Specified Skilled Worker No. 1 is up to five years, and must be renewed every year, six months, and four months.
When there are 2-3 months left until the deadline, we will contact the individual and their employer to confirm whether they wish to renew, and then we will proceed with the preparations.
When a foreign worker resigns, the company is obligated to promptly report this to the Immigration Services Agency. It is also advisable to work with support organizations to help the worker find a new job.
Please note the following:
Not to allow workers to perform work other than that for which they have specific skills (only in permitted industries)
Pay wages and benefits equal to or higher than those of Japanese workers. Ensure that workers are enrolled in social insurance and labor insurance. Fulfill the obligations of the accepting company to provide support (life and work support).
If you need more information or support tailored to your specific company, please feel free to contact us!
