What is the Specified Skilled Worker System?
Established in 2019, this residence status is designed to accept foreign talent who can immediately contribute to fields facing serious labor shortages.
Target fields
After the 2024 revision, it will be expanded to a total of 16 fields (nursing care, restaurant, construction, agriculture, etc.).
Status of residence

Specified Skilled Worker No. 1: Maximum 5 years in total, family members not allowed to accompany

Specified Skilled Worker No. 2: No renewal restrictions, family members allowed (11 fields)
Main acquisition conditions
Pass a field-specific skill test + Japanese level equivalent to N4 (JFT Basic, etc.). Those who have completed Technical Intern Training No. 2 may be exempt from the test.

As a registered support organization (19-to-002602), our association provides comprehensive support, from visa applications and life in Japan to follow-up on settling in.
