This time, as the 11th JFBFE exchange meeting,
On Monday, September 29th, at "Tugboat Taisho" in Taisho, Osaka,
Approximately 20 foreign workers with specific skills from Indonesia, Myanmar, and Vietnam , along with representatives from their host companies, participated in a "Takoyaki Making Event to Experience Osaka Culture" !
Making takoyaki for the first time as a team!
At the venue, participants were divided into groups and challenged to make takoyaki (octopus balls) at their respective tables!
Pour in the batter, add the ingredients, and flip it over...
Many participants were trying it for the first time, and at first they were confused, saying, "It's so difficult!", but gradually they got used to it and smiles all around.
As everyone sampled the freshly made takoyaki, we heard comments like, "I want to try making this at home!"

Enjoy delicious food and lively socializing.
At the venue, we'll be offering a variety of Osaka-style dishes, including kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers), fried specials, and a Korean food platter.
With delicious food and drinks in front of you, conversation flows naturally!
Through food, we were able to talk about each other's countries, and new connections were made that transcended nationality and field !

Learn about "Japan and Kansai culture" in a fun way through a quiz competition.
Next up was a quiz competition consisting of three themes ! Participants tackled quizzes on "Japanese culture and customs" that are useful in everyday life, and "place names and dialects" unique to the Kansai region.
Theme ①: Japanese Life and Culture
"What are the rules for using hot springs and public baths?" "On what day do you eat Ehomaki (lucky direction sushi rolls)?" etc.
Theme ②: This is common knowledge in Kansai! Do you know it?
"How do you pronounce the place name 'Hanaten' in Osaka?" "Where is Kinkaku-ji Temple located?" etc.
Theme 3: What does this Kansai dialect mean?
What do "hokasu" and "naosu" mean?
The quiz time was filled with laughter and surprises, and it was a great opportunity to become even more familiar with Kansai culture!
By the way, in theme ③, "hokasu" means "to throw away" and "naosu" means "to tidy up"! Did you know that? ^^
The grand finale is a fun bingo game!
The event concluded with the traditional bingo tournament.
The first prize is... a takoyaki maker!!
The person who guessed correctly was from Myanmar!
Please try making takoyaki at home, just like you did today!
We also had gift cards and confectionery gifts available, and the venue was buzzing with excitement!

The circle of exchange will continue to expand.
Our association continues to provide support that values cultural understanding and personal connections , so that skilled workers can continue to work in Japan with peace of mind and enjoyment .
We will continue to hold exchange events in various locations, working together to create a society where foreign talent can integrate into local communities and work with a smile.
We hope you'll look forward to our next get-together!
