Support Services Introduction [Regular Visit Report Vol. 5]

This time, we went for a regular interview with Patisserie Harumiere , a Western confectionery shop in Saiwai-cho, Tachikawa City, Tokyo, which boasts the largest selection of products in the area !

The shop is located on the first floor of an apartment building, about a 15-minute bus ride from Tachikawa Station.

As Halloween was approaching, there were Halloween-themed flags and signs set up!

The store name "Halumiere" is a combination of the word "hal" (sunshine) and the French word "lumiere" (light).

The shop not only sells takeout food, but also has stylish terrace seating. It's nice to spend time on the terrace at this time of year.

First, we had the opportunity to observe our supporter, Lin, who is from Taiwan, working.

After graduating from a confectionery school in Japan, Lin joined Harumiere in April 2022 as a specific skilled worker.

When he first joined the company, he found it difficult to get used to his work, but with the support of the staff, he overcame the difficulties and is now entrusted with even more difficult tasks.

At that time, Lin was mixing the dough for the roll cake. According to the owner chef, Miyake, the consistency of the dough changes depending on how many times it is mixed, so this is a delicate task that Miyake used to be in charge of! Now, he has grown so much that he can leave that task to Lin!

Once my work had settled down, I had a meeting with Chef Miyake and Chef Lin.

Miyake-san was the first Japanese team to win the World Pastry Team Championship, an international pastry competition held in the United States, in 2010!

When we asked Lin about her recent activities, she said she felt honored to be able to work under Miyake, and that she would like to try her hand at a candy sculpting contest in the future!

Finally, we enjoyed the chai cake recommended by the chef and Lin at the terrace seats!

It's so delicious, I want to try all of Harumiere's other cakes too! (^^)

We will continue to keep an eye on Lin as she continues to grow, and hope to visit her again in three months!
