Support Services Introduction [Regular Visit Report Vol.2]

This is the second report from our regular visit!

This time, we went on a regular visit to Uplines Co., Ltd., which sells dumplings and other products made with brand beef and pork, including Omi beef, through mail order and in stores.

Ekari, a Myanmar woman working under the specific skills visa, works at Paow in Nanja Town in Ikebukuro Sunshine City.

"Bao Wang" has been ranked number one in the monthly polls at the Gyoza Stadium in Nanja Town!

First, we asked the store manager, Mr. Nabe, and Ms. Ekari, who works as a specific skills student, about their recent activities.

Ekari works the late shift and is in charge of everything from general store management to closing up the store at night.

He also gets along well with staff from other stores, and apparently they even hang out together on their days off.

Apparently, the store manager sometimes gives them strict instructions, as they are employees and not part-time workers.

Ekari said, "Thanks to this, I'm able to grow more and more!"

Recently, it was decided that the restaurant industry will also fall under the category of Specified Skilled Worker No. 2, and an outline of the requirements for transitioning to Specified Skilled Worker No. 2 was also announced.

In the food service industry, in order to transition to Specified Skilled Worker No. 2,

・Food service industry specific skills No. 2 skills assessment test

・Japanese Language Proficiency Test (N3 or above)

You must pass the exam.

In addition, as practical experience,

・Engage in work including customer service while supervising and instructing multiple part-time employees and foreign nationals with specific skills.

・Experience assisting in store management (assistant manager, sub-manager, etc.)

became a requirement.

Another major benefit of obtaining "Specified Skilled Worker No. 2" is that the period of stay becomes indefinite.

The store manager said that if Ekari wanted to, he would fully support her in her quest to obtain the second license, even as a manager on-site!

Ekari has already passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N3 level, so there is a good chance she will be granted Specified Skilled Worker No. 2 status!

After the interview, Ekari showed me around Gyoza Stadium.

Ekari smiles and says that everyone she works with is kind and it's a very easy place to work.
